Walks in Nuuksio on New Year's Eve and Day

We spent a traditional Christmas with Kai's family in Vaasa. We met a few toller friends.

The last week of August we had a great time taking care of Emma, Capsi's littermate while her owners were on vacation.

After the retriever camp we went to Vaasa, where Pia was working for the summer. From Vaasa we also made a trip (without Capsi) to Sweden to attend the Swedish Toller Specialty.

TollerShow is the Finnish toller specialty. It's the biggest toller show of the year. Next year this show will be an official one. Let's hope it still remains the biggest one. This year 74 tollers were entered.

Retrievercamp was a lot of fun training, friends, camp life for a whole week!

Midsummer is the festival of the longest day of the year and above all it's a celebration of summer!

Toller camp was a blast! Lots of tollers, lots of activities, but only one weekend.

In our favorite forest, the national park of Espoo, Nuuksio.

As Capsi didn't swim last year, she's been a bit timid with this new element. Here we're practising by the sea.

Capsi's training buddies Wellu, Freya, Lara and Doris are all heading for the basic retriever test and the weekend before we had a "dress rehearsal". Capsi is not going although I was hoping she might be ready for it now that she has the required age, 8 months.

Saturday in the forest

Saturday afternoon in the forest - perfect weather, perfect activities.

Poor Capsi broke her claw 27th March probably when she took a giant leap (like the toller she is) and landed in a frozen puddle and broke the ice. The claw had to be removed under anesthesia and afterwards she had to wear a bandage for some time to wait for a new claw to grow.

When Capsi and her littermates were 6 months old we had a nice reunion at Benita's place. All except Aker (in America!) made it to the reunion, but seven puppies is already a big bunch! The weather wasn't ideal for photos, but we had a lot of fun. We also showed the crow to all puppies and all but one liked it a lot!

We took Emil & Aaron out for a walk while Sari and Simo were skiing.

Nearly six months old and has never had a bath... Well, as we were going to an unofficial puppy show the following Sunday, we thought it would be good to give Capsi a bath and neaten her up.

Helsinki area tollers to go for a walk together approximately every month. Capsi had a lot of fun!

Beautiful Saturday morning, the sun was shining so naturally we headed for the forest right after breakfast. We were in this rather quiet forest and to our big amazement our hike started with a sighting of a group (must have been at least 15 of them) of deer! Never seen anything like that!

We went to visit Emma, Capsi's littermate and her owners Jaakko and Marianne in Helsinki. Emma was a little bit smaller, a little bit darker than Capsi. Otherwise the sisters had a lot in common and they enjoyed the meeting very much, as did we humans!
