Export all the important data from VideoLib to your spreadsheet program and your imagination is the only limit! Calculate statistics, print labels, keep the wife up to date, etc. VideoConv is a tool for extracting all the data from your VideoLib databases and generate text files with comma separated values, or CSV files. The CSV files can easily be opened in other programs, such as Microsoft Excel, and the data can be manipulated and utilized for any number of purposes. VideoConv produces two CSV files from the VideoLib databases. One file contains a list of all tapes, with their names, lengths, category and associated note. The other file has a list of all programmes, which tape they are on, as well as all their associated data (length, speed, date, rating, category, note, etc.).
Note: you must use the same numbered version of both VideoConv and VideoLib. The VideoLib databases are version-specific, so the corresponding version of VideoConv must be used so the database can be correctly parsed. The version is automatically checked, and you will get an appropriate error message if trying to use the wrong version databases. (Note that the newest VideoLib version contains a separate Palm program for converting older databases to the newest format). Download:
Beware: This is still a rather prototype version of VideoConv. It is totally command-line based (great for scripting or porting to other platforms, but bad for people that don't know what command-line arguments are), and it is currently only a data export tool. These are all things that will improve over time, but I will need some feedback telling me what you actually need. This simple version seems to be good for at least the two user's that contacted me and requested it. So now you tell me what you want! See Also
